Salzburg

We docked at Linz for a 2 hr bus trip to Salzburg, through the mountains. All as we imagined, picture postcard scenery. In all towns the buildings are situated close to the roadsides, some very colorful. It would be amazing to be here in winter with the snow.
We visited another large Roman Catholic cathedral, yet again a very opulent building. This was one of the sites that the Sound of Music was filmed from. Our tour guide was Peter, dressed in traditional costume, and he launched into many of the music tracks from Sound of Music whilst he was commentating. We then drove to Salzburg where we were taken on a tour of the tourist spots. The house where Mozart was born , and the park where another scene from Sound of Music was shot.
Then back on the bus to join the ship at Passau, which is our first visit to Germany.
